How to Care for Your Gold Jewelry

21K gold is durable, but it isn't indestructible. A little routine care goes a long way toward keeping your rings and bracelets looking like the day they left our bench.

Take it off for the rough stuff

Gym sessions, gardening, cleaning with harsh chemicals, and swimming in chlorinated pools are the fastest ways to dull or scratch gold. Chlorine in particular can weaken the alloy over time. A quick habit — rings and bracelets off before the pool or the cleaning cupboard — protects the piece far more than any polish will.

Store pieces separately

Gold is soft enough that other jewelry, including other gold pieces, can scratch it in a drawer or jewelry box. Keep rings and bracelets in individual soft pouches or a lined box with separate compartments, the way it arrived from us.

Quality should never be a compromise — and that includes after the piece leaves the store.

Clean it gently, at home

Warm water, a few drops of mild dish soap, and a soft-bristled brush (an old toothbrush works well) will lift most everyday dirt and oils. Soak for 10–15 minutes, brush gently, rinse thoroughly, and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners for pieces set with softer or fracture-prone stones.

Know when to bring it in

Loose stones, a ring that's stopped sitting flush, or a clasp that feels looser than it used to — these are signs a piece needs a professional look, not a home fix. Bring it back to us; as part of the Noor Gold family, we'll take care of it.

Wear it

Gold jewelry is made to be worn, not kept in a box. Regular gentle wear actually helps — the natural oils in skin can even help maintain a soft shine between cleanings. Trust in every karat means trusting it to hold up to a life well-lived.
